Merry Christmas everyone!!

Christmas Cookies

Hi girls!
Just wanted to touch base with everyone about our cookie making/decorating extravaganza next Friday. We're planning on meeting at the Humphreys' on the evening of the 19th. We still need to establish:
-Time
-What everyone is making
-Whether or not we need to pick up tins

I'll make sugar cookies ahead of time and have icing and sprinkles ready to go.

I'm sure I've forgotten at least a few details, so I will let you guys fill in the blanks! :) Looking forward to next Friday!

Thanksgiving : Sunday 4-4:30

Monday relocation

Hi all! Rather than invite all of you over to our germ-fest, it may be best to relocate the life group meeting for Monday. We're going to meet at the Humphreys at 7:30 - Abigail says this will be best for Emmaline's schedule. Brian may see you there - he seems to be healthy again.

Hi everyone! This afternoon Charity brought over a thank-you note for all of us, and apologized that it took so long. (Beth, can you mention it to Zoe if you think of it?) Here's what it says:

Dear Mowery Friends (and Mowerys),

I want to thank you all for serving my family so selflessly recently.

It's been so much better to not have that pole in our yard. I know it turned out to be a huge job and I thank you for perservering.

Thank you for watching all the kids. Thank you also for sanding my stairs and cleaning my fireplace. They look so different! You did an amazing job.

Last but not least, thank you for all the gifts you gave to Sam for the hospital. He loves them so much. They were not only very generous of you, but incredibly thoughtful as well.

I don't have enough room to express all of my thanks!!

On another note, check back to confirm about Monday night. We cannot seem to kick this cold from our household. Hopefully we'll feel better by Monday and I will disinfect the house for you, but we'll let you know.

Hi all! I hope you are having a good week! We're supposed to meet as a whole group next Monday at our house, but Brian's brother and his family are passing through town that night and crashing at our house (all 5 of them! Should be interesting!). So we won't be able to host group that night. Anyone else up for hosting?

How is everybody doing?

Just thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing after the big storm. Jason and I have power and luckily were only down about 3 hours on Sunday. Hope everyone is doing well, please call us if you need anything!

ECB Thanksgiving

Hello, Jerron and I were wondering if you and your children would like to come over and celebrate Thanksgiving together on Saturday, November 15th. (We can watch the OSU vs Illinois game too.) We'll have a turkey and a few sides ready. If you would like to bring something to share, that would be great, just let me know. Hope we can celebrate together.

the beginning of a beautiful relationship

Ok, you guys, this weekend was a BLAST, was it not? I'm so glad people were able to make it! And thanks so much to the Eveners for hosting with a baby and an MBA to tend to as well!

Here's what cracks me up about this video:

1) How Emmaline stiff-arms Katy's attempt to put Frank's (?) pacifier in her mouth. (Better wash that off if you haven't already, Kate)

2) Brett's explanation of the benefits of organic milk in the background (actually, I'm seriously annoyed that I can't hear it because of my child's whining, because I'd like to know what Brett has to share on the topic.).

3) Katy's seventeen requests to watch the video before resorting to the last resort: throw herself on the floor. Ooops.

I'll hopefully get some pictures up on my blog tonight from the trip. Brett, how did the group photo turn out?

So I will see you all on September 8th at 7:00 (instead of 7:30!!) at our house, if not sooner.

Next Monday 8/11

I don't think we've made a firm plan for anymore Mondays. Next Monday, 8/11, the Hacks and the Mowerys are out. (We'll be getting back from Kentucky that afternoon, but won't be able to turn around in time for life group). So is anyone else going to be around/want to host?

We can host again on 8/18, and I can provide snack that day. Then maybe we can talk about fall and the next long term plan? We might know our fall babysitting options by then, and we're open to doing what's best for the group - I know the babies make things more challenging.

Apple Valley Weekend

Plans are still on for Apple Valley. You can make your way up any time on Saturday. I'll have snacky food out all day. I am brainstorming on the lunch and dinner menus, but if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them. I've already grown tired of the summer standard of hot dogs/hamburgers/potato salad.

The boat can hold 10 adults at a time. Everyone can go tubing, but the skis are a bit short so unfortunately the bigger guys won't be able to ski. we have plenty of rafts and noodles if you would just prefer to bob. There is a fire ring for the possibility of s'mores or we can just sit out on the deck and star gaze. Sunday everyone can get up at their own pace, water more, and then we'll head out just after lunch.

Let me know who is planning on coming. I know the Mowery's aren't planning on spend Saturday night and Jason wont be able to come up until after work.

I hope to see everyone there. It feels like we haven't all been together in a long time.

Life Group Dinner on July 14th @ 7pm!

Hey all. We will be having dinner at the Humphrey's Monday! Abigail is going to fix pulled pork! Yummy. I am going to bring some corn on the cob and I believe Adrienne is going to make a salad. What would you like to bring(dessert,fruit,potatoes,appetizer,or whatever you want) ?

We will also talk about what we would like to do for the rest of the summer.

Katy misses you

I meant to post this earlier in the week...but better late than never...

When Brian went to Katy out of her crib on Tuesday morning, she said, "See BethiJason?" and he said, "No, they went home." So she asked, "Adrienne?" No. "See Dabe?" Sorry, honey. Then she proceeded to ask for everyone in the life group.

She misses you. And looks forward to seeing you again on Monday.

Does anyone have snack? I can do something if no one else does.

Baby and I had our last ultrasound experience today. The latest number is 8lbs 15 oz with 3 weeks to go. Bring it on Baby David!

Sorry, I've been missing in action.

I thought it would be a great idea to try and combine different commitments on the same day, in order to not be running around so much. Well, it turns out work from (9 - 5), yoga (5:30 - 7:00), small group (7:30 - 9:00) and being on call for Red Cross from 6:00 pm - 6:00 am isn't a good idea. Who'da thunk it????

So, I'm moving Red Cross to Wednesday's (same night as my graduate classes), sorry still can't do M-life.

I'm taking two classes this term - 1 online and one on Wednesdays. My goal was to be done before the baby. It turns out, I'll be in my second week of my capstone.

Well, please pray for me as I try to wrap up some of these things and get ready for our little (big) screaming present to enter our lives.

Brett mentioned in Small Book tonight that there was a new movie/documentary out by Ben Stein. Well here is the trailer for those interested. Personally I have found since having kids all I do is watch movie trailers very seldom the entire movie. Most of the time I find I get all the good parts from the trailers anyway. :)
